Clear expectations

Application, privacy and commission information.

This page explains the public Founding Families process. Accepted families receive the complete commission agreement, payment terms and confirmed delivery information before paying a deposit.

Founding Families applications

Submitting an application is free and does not create an order, guarantee acceptance or reserve a production date. Monarch Tales reviews product fit, capacity and supported delivery before inviting a family into private onboarding.

Acceptance and private onboarding

Accepted families receive the confirmed scope, displayed regional price, expected production batch, included reviews, delivery position and private payment instructions. A commission begins only after the customer accepts those terms and the required deposit is received.

Founding price and delivery

The displayed Founding Families price is the final customer price including standard shipping where supported in Australia, the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom. Delivery availability is confirmed before onboarding. Remote, exceptional or unsupported addresses may require a separate solution before payment; Monarch Tales will not add an undisclosed delivery charge after payment.

Production batches and timing

Twenty founding applications may be accepted, but production occurs in controlled batches. Acceptance does not mean immediate production. The expected batch is communicated privately. Customer response times, approval delays, unusual requests and printing conditions may affect the schedule.

Story and illustration reviews

The Founding Families Legacy Edition includes one consolidated story-review round and two consolidated illustration-correction rounds. A round means one organised response containing all requested corrections for that stage. Complete character redesigns after approval, repeated rebuilding of approved work and substantial changes to the original brief are not included and may require a separate quote.

Character likeness

Characters are carefully created storybook interpretations inspired by reference photographs. They are not photographic portraits, and exact resemblance is not guaranteed. The customer approves the initial character identity and style direction before full scene production. Approval locks that overall direction.

Deposits, final payment and cancellation

The public website does not take a Founding Families deposit. Accepted families receive an invoice and the applicable cancellation and refund terms before payment. Because each commission involves custom creative work, the stage reached and work already completed may affect what can be cancelled or refunded. Nothing in Monarch Tales terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.

Quality problems and consumer rights

If a delivered product is damaged, defective or materially different from the approved work, contact Monarch Tales promptly with photographs and order details so the issue can be assessed with the printer. Statutory consumer guarantees and other rights that apply in the customer's jurisdiction remain unaffected.

Application information

The public application asks only for information needed to review the request, such as contact details, country, children's first names and ages, and a brief description of what the family wants to preserve. Please do not submit photographs or highly sensitive information through the public application.

Children's photographs and story information

Accepted families receive separate instructions when reference photographs and detailed story information are required. This material is used to plan and produce the commissioned keepsake. Modern creative service providers may assist parts of production; the relevant handling information and consent should be reviewed before files are supplied. Access is limited to people and providers involved in the commission.

Retention, access and correction

Monarch Tales aims to retain personal material only for as long as reasonably necessary for application review, production, support, financial records and legal obligations. Families may request access to or correction of their submitted information, or ask about deletion where retention is no longer required, by contacting Monarch Tales through the contact page.

Testimonials and public use

Application details, children's photographs, testimonials, videos and completed-book images are not automatically approved for public marketing. Monarch Tales requests separate, optional permission before featuring family material. Declining marketing permission does not affect the commissioned service.

Parent or guardian authority

The adult providing information and photographs must be authorised to do so for the child or children involved. If another adult commissioned the book as a gift, appropriate parent or guardian permission may be required before detailed production begins.

Creative ownership and family use

The customer receives the printed book and the personal-use digital materials included in the accepted scope. Copyright and broader commercial rights in Monarch Tales writing, layouts, branding and commissioned artwork remain with their respective owner unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. Family materials remain the family's own.

Important: This public page is operational information, not the complete customer contract or legal advice. Accepted families receive the specific terms applying to their commission before payment.
